Meet Aaron Abramson
Aaron Abramson has served with Jews for Jesus for over 24 years in a wide range of leadership positions. Aaron loves to think through complex challenges from a biblical perspective. He is a big picture, strategic thinker who also happens to be creative – so he brings fresh vision for how to reach and serve more Jewish people in our communities. Massah, our outreach to Israeli backpackers is just one example of an evangelistic strategy that Aaron created and launched.
As one of Jews for Jesus’ two international chief operating officers since 2019, Aaron has had oversight of our North American and UK ministry teams as well our Church Engagement and Communications Departments.
Aaron holds a BA in Biblical and Intercultural Studies from All Nations Christian College in England and a Master of Public Administration from New York University.
Aaron brings so much knowledge, experience, and passion to the position of Jews for Jesus international CEO – and we can’t wait for you to get to know him directly as he shares his vision with you in upcoming newsletters.
Aaron’s Story
I was raised in an American Jewish family. When I was 15 years old, we immigrated to Israel. I had lots of questions about God, so I sought answers in an Orthodox Yeshiva (Jewish Seminary) in Jerusalem. I left after 9 months feeling empty and confused. At 18, I was drafted into the Israeli military where I served for 3 years. During my first 6 months of service, something happened that turned my life turned upside down: a close Israeli friend was kidnapped, tortured and killed by Hamas.
I became depressed and drifted away from God. After completing my service, I needed to get away, so I travelled for a year. During that time, a number of Christians tried to share the gospel with me. Each time, I would walk away, until one of them challenged me to read the New Testament. I don’t know why, but I decided to give it a try. As I read through the gospels, faith welled up inside me and I was filled with hope for the first time in years. I knew Jesus was the promised Jewish Messiah and I wanted to tell my Israeli friends about him. So I returned to Israel where I began to volunteer with Jews for Jesus.
In 1999, I joined Jews for Jesus full time. Since then, I’ve had so many amazing opportunities to share Jesus with Jewish people, and I’ve been able to equip others to do the same. I even met my beautiful wife, Victoria, through our ministry! We have three wonderful children. I’m excited and humbled by this new season of ministry, and I would be deeply grateful for your prayers.
