Tel Aviv: Songs and Prayers Bring Comfort

by Boris Skvortsov

Chuck* is a brilliant Israeli guitarist and musician who has been coming to our ministry events for some time. We would play music together at various times, and it was always clear that music was his passion. Since the war in Israel and Gaza, Chuck fell into depression and was fading away; he stopped performing and couldn't bring himself to pick up the guitar.

I suggested we put together a live music event with nostalgic Israeli songs; we invited a bass player and worked on a playlist. With each rehearsal the colour and spark seemed to come back to Chuck. Expressing his feelings through music seemed to really help him go through this rough time.

As our connection has grown, and in-between rehearsals we started talking not only about music theory but also about how the Church and Christianity impacted the way we approach and perceive music today.

Finally, Chuck expressed interest in coming to my church to listen to the worship I'm leading. Would you please pray that the Word of God would touch his heart in a special way and draw him to the Lord?

Thank you for your partnership which makes possible ministry events where Jewish seekers like Chuck can come and see a testimony of faith in Jesus!
