You can be Jewish and be for Jesus.
God Made You Jewish on Purpose
You are chosen to know the King of the Universe and to be a light that leads others to find Him. That is the calling that God gave to Abraham, Sarah, Moses, David, Esther, and so many of our ancestors: to know the Creator personally and to experience the peace and love that can only be found in Him.
Billions of people from different countries, cultures, and languages have discovered as followers of the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus), that close relationship with the God of Israel—the relationship promised to us in the Hebrew Scriptures.
But as Jewish people, sometimes we get the impression that Jesus isn’t supposed to be for us, or that in order to follow Jesus, we would have to abandon our Jewish heritage and identity. We’ve had those kinds of doubts ourselves, but when we dug in and investigated, we found that just the opposite was true.
We were skeptical about Jesus.
Jesus is One of Us
We were nervous about investigating the claims of Jesus. But when we did, we discovered something: Jesus is one of us.
Jesus was a Jewish person through and through. He had a Jewish family tree. His parents named him Yeshua, which means “salvation” in Hebrew. He was called “rabbi” by his followers and contemporaries. He went to shul. He taught from the Hebrew Scriptures. He celebrated Hanukkah, Passover, and Sukkot. All of his first followers were Jewish. In fact, they were later called “Christians” because the Greek word christos is a translation of the Hebrew word “Messiah.” The word Christian literally means “follower of the Messiah.”
What changed our perspective?
The Journey is Worth It
As Jewish followers of Yeshua, we know firsthand that it is possible to remain true to our Jewish heritage, live a meaningful Jewish life and have a deep faith in Yeshua as Messiah for our people and for all people of the earth.
We don’t pretend that it isn’t hard. We know it is. As Jews, we’ve risked everything to follow Jesus. But we are here to tell you that this journey is worth it.
Our lives were changed.
Walking Forward in Faith
This journey of faith is at the very heart of what it means to be Jewish. Abraham, the father of our people, left his home to follow God to a land that he had never seen. But Abraham wasn’t alone. God promised to be his shield as he walked forward in faith. And now, God is with you on your spiritual journey—like He was with Abraham, Joseph, Rachel, and Esther. After all, we come from a long line of people who have risked everything to follow God.
We’re with you on this journey, too. We’ve wrestled our way through many of the same questions you may be having, and we’re here to answer your questions about Jewish life and faith in Jesus.
